Just a short drive across the Utah border, Bloomington Lake conceals itself in the rocky landscape above bear lake. Quite possibly one of the most beautiful lakes in southern idaho, Bloomington Lake is an incredible mountain oasis ready to serve as your next outdoor adventure.

Traveling north from Utah along the west coast of Bear Lake you will soon find yourself arriving at the small city of Bloomington, Idaho. After a left turn on Canyon Street (at the Post Office) you will find the road entering Bloomington Canyon, a rocky dirt road best suited for high clearance vehicles, however, still possible with smaller vehicles. The enjoyable, yet bumpy, 40 minute drive up the canyon will lead you past beautiful pastures and friendly farm animals. Be sure to keep attention to stay on Forest Road 409 as many turn offs are available along the way. Soon you will find yourself at the trailhead and campground of Bloomington lake.

The trail to the lake is only a short 10 minute walk and is a relatively easy walk past beautiful wild flowers and a smaller crystal clear lake.
