A short yet, engaging trail, Grotto Falls is a great daytime hike for young families and even your high maintenance friend. With boardwalk pathways and thick green forest, Grotto Falls is a good excuse to get outdoors if only for a few minutes.
The trailhead begins about 7 miles after entering Payson Canyon. A small area off to the side of the road offers free parking for those looking to take to the trail.
The trail is a short half mile winding between trees and following the river up to the falls. Eventually you will enter the small encaved area with the falls cascading into a shallow pool surrounding by steep rock. The falls offer a pleasant environment with a refreshing shower if you are willing to bear the temperature of the water.
A great hike with minimum difficulty, Grotto Falls is a great opportunity to see the versatile environment of the state of Utah.
